How to draw a room in InSitu from a measured sketch
You read out the measurements of your survey, your AI assistant draws the room in InSitu or KitchenDraw: not one wall with the mouse.

Read out the measurements, in order

The shape of the room and the ceiling height.

The walls one by one, always in the same direction, starting from a simple landmark such as the door.
- 3
The openings, then the service points.
Rectangular room, 3.80 m by 3.10 m, 2.50 m high. The door is on the short wall on the left; go clockwise.
Tip Two facing walls are not the same length? The room is out of square: say so rather than rounding it off.
Angled walls, cut corners, open-plan rooms
Describe each wall as you see it, with its angles: the assistant draws the outline. For an open kitchen, say where the room ends: it does not close a wall that is not there.
In the far corner, a 60 cm cut corner at 45°. On the living room side, the room is open, with a low wall 1.50 m long and 1.10 m high.
Doors, windows and wide openings
For each opening: the wall, the distance from the corner, the width and the height. For a window, add the sill height: it tells whether the worktop fits underneath.
A 1.20 m window on the long wall, 95 cm from the left corner, sill at 1.05 m, 1.15 m high. An 83 door on the short wall, 10 cm from the corner.
Tip Always measure from the same landmark, for instance the left corner as you face the wall: no window ends up shifted to the wrong side.
The service points
Water supply, drain, sockets: the wall, the distance from the corner and the height. They stay in the project, and the checks make sure the sink lands near the water supply.
Water supply and drain on the long wall, 1.60 m from the left corner, 50 cm off the floor. A double socket at 2.40 m, 1.10 m high.
Review, then adjust by voice

Ask for a review: the assistant reads back the walls, the openings and the service points.

Look at the plan from above and compare it with your sketch.

Correct what is wrong in one sentence.
Read the room back to me wall by wall and show me the plan. The window is 1 m from the corner, not 95 cm.
Tip Each action of the assistant is undone with Ctrl+Z in InSitu.
